Pterocarpus indicus<\/b><\/i> (commonly known as Amboyna wood<\/b>, Malay padauk<\/b>, Papua New Guinea rosewood<\/b>, Philippine mahogany<\/b>, Andaman redwood<\/b>, Burmese rosewood<\/b>, narra<\/b>[3]<\/a><\/sup> and asana<\/b> in the Philippines, angsana<\/b>, or Pashu padauk<\/b>) is a species of Pterocarpus<\/a><\/i> native to southeastern Asia<\/a>, northern Australasia<\/a>, and the western Pacific Ocean<\/a> islands, in Cambodia<\/a>, southernmost China<\/a>, East Timor<\/a>, Indonesia<\/a>, Malaysia<\/a>,[4]<\/a><\/sup> Papua New Guinea<\/a>, the Philippines<\/a>, the Ryukyu Islands<\/a>, the Solomon Islands<\/a>, Thailand<\/a>, and Vietnam<\/a>.[5]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n

Pterocarpus indicus<\/i> was one of two species (the other being Eysenhardtia polystachya<\/a><\/i>) used as a source for the 16th- to 18th-century traditional diuretic<\/a> known as lignum nephriticum<\/a><\/i>.[6]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n

Many populations of Pterocarpus indicus<\/i> are seriously threatened. It is extinct in Vietnam and possibly in Sri Lanka and Peninsular Malaysia.[1]<\/a><\/sup> It was declared the national tree of the Philippines in 1934 by Governor-General<\/a> Frank Murphy<\/a> of the Insular Government of the Philippine Islands<\/a> through Proclamation No. 652.[7]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n

 <\/span>One package contains 1 plant, between 40-60cm tall . We ship only healthy (in pot) growing plants. We carefully remove the soil and wrap the roots in humid sterile coconut peat. Then we gently pack the rootball in a plastic bag . After that, we wrap the plant in newspaper and then in a strong cardboard box with Thai registered airmail. EMS is also possible but prices are on request. <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n
